Challenge: 30 Days Of Blogging

Day Four: A habit that you wish you didn’t have.

I am a nail biter! And, I hate it! I have had this horrible habit for as long as I can remember. I used to make a new years resolution every year for most of my childhood and teenage years to stop biting them. That'd last a few hours. Now, I don't even bother making it my new years resolution because I know I won't keep it! I swear I must do it in my sleep because when I would give up I was so determined but they still were short. I've tried everything - even that nail polish that tastes foul - I GOT USED TO THE TASTE haha! The only time I stop biting, is when I have false nails on. But, as soon as they come off, I bite again within hours. ANNOYING! My hubby loves girly hands, so he hates it even more than what I do. He is constantly telling me to stop biting. Oh well, maybe one day I'll stop.

Challenge: 30 Days Of Blogging

Day Two: The meaning behind your blog name.

"Space to Breathe"

I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper (or the computer in this case). In 2000, after a horrible incident that happened in my parents home to our family, we were made to see psychologists. The one I saw suggested I begin to write a journal, so I did. This became for me my little "Space to Breathe".

I enjoy being able to write about the happy and good things in my life. I guess as a way of remembering them in future. It's also my space to drop everything, and my space to just leave it there. I continued writing on and off over the years and what I find is that when I do, life is easier.

Writing is theraputic for me. My "Space To Breathe" is my outlet - for the good things, the bad things and the creative things in my life.
I worry and stress alot and by writing it all down, doing lists of pros and cons and being able to close my journal (or turn off the computer), I can leave it and sleep easy. When I don't write, I lay in bed at night tossing and turning, thinking about everything - good and bad. Writing is also a creative thing. My journals have always had pictures, drawings and colour.

Challenge: 30 Days Of Blogging!

I'm going to attempt this challenge because I think it will encourage me to develop a habit of writing here and I think it will be easier to do it because there is something to write about at the beginning. You should try the challenge too! The challenges for each day are down the bottom of this post. Enjoy :)

Day One: A recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself

Christmas Day 2010
1. I am married to the most amazing, generous, loving man I have ever known - Nigel. He still takes my breath away and I am more in love with him now than I was yesterday!

2. Today, my baby is five weeks and three days old. We're loving getting to know each other! He loves blowing bubbles and loves staring at vertical blinds. He is very strong and looks just like his Daddy!

3. I have a much better relationship with my Mum now that we don't live together. I love my Mum. She is an amazing woman. I have come to realise this over the last few years. Before that, I took her for granted and treated her quite badly. I feel bad for that all the time. But now, we have a great relationship. She is one of my closest friends.

4. I think family is the most important thing - whether that be the family you are born into, or the family you choose (i.e: friends). My little family - Nigel and Isaac, are number one to me, followed by my family and Nigel's family. After that, comes everyone/everything else.

5. Nigel and I own three dogs - Ella, Zoey and Lolly. They all have their own little personalities and I love them to bits. Ella's nickname is "Boarder Security" because she runs the boarder of our property with her nose to the ground sniffing out the badies LOL. Zoey is my cuddle machine. She loves cuddles! She is so loyal and everytime I look at her, I can see how much she loves me! Lolly was my Nanna's dog before she became ours. She is very affectionate aswell, but more of a lap dog than the other two. She loves to sit on Nigel's lap at night time when he watches TV and do nothing.

6. I had wonderful grandparents! I wasn't very close to my Mum's parents but I loved visiting them a few times every year. I was very close to my Dad's parents though. They were all wonderful people and I miss each of them all the time! I wish so badly that my children got to meet them. They would have been so blessed to have them in their lives.

7. I love being a wife. My husband makes loving being a wife very easy. I love all aspects of being a wife and I can't imagine life being any other way! I am truely blessed to have him in my life.

8. I have completed an Outdoor Sports and Recreation Course... My family was very suprised when I decided to take this course on because I never really liked the outdoors before that and I'm terrified of heights! I really enjoyed the course (except the rock climbing/abseiling parts!). My favourite part of it all was canoeing. I'd love to go on a canoe trip again one day.

9. My husband and I both want to move to QLD.

10. I have so many dreams and goals, but doing all of them is truely impossible! Like, I'd like to be a teacher, I'd like to own my own business, I'd like to be a florist, I'd like to be a billionaire, I'd like to travel the world, I'd like to make a change in the world, I'd like to have 10 children... I often dream about doing these things, amoungst others, but get disappointed knowing most of them will never happen.

11. When I lived at home, I used to complain to no end about how clean and organised my Mum was! Now, I'm exactly like her and sometimes I find myself just laughing at myself for the irony.

12. My twin brothers just turned 21. I wish I was closer to them. I don't know if I ever will be.This makes me really sad.

13. I want everyone to like me and because of this, I care too much about what people think of me. Even those people who I can say I don't want in my life for particular reasons, I still get upset when I hear about what they have said about me.

14. My favourite thing to do when Hubby isn't working is to drive somewhere we have never been before and talk all the way there and home :)

15. I believe I am truely blessed in life.

Mission 2011: Weight Loss

My new years resolution for 2011 was to loose weight. I have 30kgs left to loose before Isaac is 1 year old.

I have already lost 20.5kgs but that is with the assistance of firstly giving birth and secondly the wonders of breastfeeding :)

I am so determined to loose this weight this year and I am going to keep on blogging about it because I want everyone to know when I have finally achieved my goal!!!

I can start to exercise as of next Wednesday when my GP gives me clearance after my Caesarean. I'm going to walk at least five out of seven days every week and continue to eat healthy.

I will find a tape measure and post my measurements each week when I have one.

A Little Bit About Me!

So, let me start by introducing myself...

My name is Sarah. I'm 23 years old and I live in Western Sydney. I live with my husband, Nigel and our baby boy, Isaac. We also have three dogs - Ella, Zoey and Lolly.

Nigel and I got married on the 21st Feb 2009 so its been almost 2 years! I can't wait for our anniversary! :) I love being married to Nigel because he is my best friend. I adore him and love spending time with him.

Isaac was born on the 28th December 2010 so he is currently 5 and a half weeks old. He is a gorgeous baby and we are very blessed to be his parents! I'm breastfeeding him (which I am very much so enjoying and plan to continue for a long time!) and he is growing very well! He sleeps at the moment between 5 and 8 hours each night and sleeps most of the morning too. He is my world - I love being a Mummy and spending every second with him!

I really love being at home with my baby. I might be odd but I really love cleaning my house and doing all those wifey things. I also love cooking - mainly desert recipes but I do enjoy cooking something from scratch for dinner that I've never done before. I find cooking the same thing over and over again boring. I also love having coffee with friends and dinner dates with my Hubby.

I really want to continue this blog this year. I aim to write at least once a week, but hopefully more often than that! :)

Welcome

I have had a blog once before & due to lack of time, I gave it up. However, since stopping work, I now have alot more down time & I hope that that means I can set aside some to maintain this blog.

Here are some things you will find on my blog over the coming months: a weekly challenge for myself (& you, if you'd like to join me!),  book & movie reviews (I love reading & watching a good movie, but hardly ever actually set aside time to do it so I'm planning to do more of that this year), home improvement & house cleaning/organising tips I've learnt, jobs around our house I have accomplished & projects Hubby & I have enjoyed doing, things in my everyday life that make me smile, laugh or just happy, things I have learnt during the month & much more.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog!
